The excitement was palpable on the very first flight. In November 2021 we had flown from Kathmandu valley to the village by a plane. However, this maiden trip with my son got missed owing to a mistake from the team managing the flight.
In February 2022, the opportunity to travel with my son arose again, which led to a remarkable travel experience. This was the second flight in my history of air travel, while it was the first time I had flown with my son. Although my son was early age, his demeanor and behavior during the flight were that of an experienced passenger.
My son showed an adult how to correctly wear a seat belt and communicate effectively with the cabin crew. He showed his intelligence by ringing the service bell near his seat and asking the air hostess for a cup of water. In spite of the fact that my first air flight experience was somewhat uncomfortable, the journey with my son emerged as smooth and enjoyable.
This article tries to tell the story of two different generations' experiences in air travel. My son, who was remarkably intelligent, showed knowledge in air travel, such as the importance of listening to what the air hostess has to say regarding safety measures before boarding.
The whole scenario was captured on mobile cameras. I felt a little awkward since other passengers were also witnessing this interaction. My son, though, was telling me to record the memorable moments of the flight.
Starting from Simara, our short flight, which was supposed to end at the domestic terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport, took to the sky in fifteen minutes.
Ultimately, the generational disparity kept the integrity of the flight experiences different from one another. At one moment or another, it felt scary, but my son enjoyed the feel of flying. I missed my first flight experience with my son. However, the second trip gave a chance to document the shared experience.
